Shaniqua Higgs

Ms Higgs is a graduate of the University of North Carolina, Charlotte, NC and holds an MA in English Literature. She taught BGCSE English Language and Literature for several years at her alma mater, St. Augustine's College, before joining the college community in 2005.

Ms Higgs has held the position of ENG 300 Coordinator since August 2011 and has taught a variety of courses, including:

College English Skills I and II, Advanced Writing: Bahamian Society and Culture, Introduction to Criticism, Introduction to Bahamian Literature, Introduction to Literature for Children, and The African American Novel.

Ms. Higgs' research interests include the impact slavery has had on the relationships between black men and women today and the representations of women in modern adaptations of the Grimm's fairytales.
