Monique McFarlane-Bain, Assistant Professor in the School of English Studies, coordinates and facilitates the work of the Language Resource Centre, a writing support facility for students at the College of The Bahamas. She has been with the College for 10 years and has a keen interest in developmental writers.

At the College, she has taught College Prepatory English courses and Effective Writing, a writing course offered to professionals through the Continuing Education program. Prior to her time at the College, Mrs. McFarlane-Bain taught English and Literature at S.C. McPherson and C. C. Sweeting High Schools, for 5 years combined. She is a graduate of Florida International University where she obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and a Master of Science degree in Adult Education. Monique enjoys helping students become critical, reflective, and confident writers, and she is currently leading a series of writing workshops for the College community.
