Ivy Higgins

Mrs. Higgins graduated from the University of the West Indies, Mona, with a MA in English. She taught BGCSE English language and literature for several years. She was been an Examiner for BGCSE English Language Paper 4 (from its inception in 1993) for thirteen years and in recent years was Team Leader.

Mrs. Higgins has been a faculty member at COB for seven years. She has held the position of ENG 120 College English Skills 11 Co-ordinator for five (5) years. Mrs. Higgins has taught a variety of courses, some of which are:

ENG 119 College Skills 1; ENG 120 College English Skills 11; ENG 300 Advanced Writing: Bahamian Society and Culture; ENG 124 Introduction to Criticism; ENG 213 West Indian Literature; ENG 313 Issues in West Indian Discourse; ENG 410 Caribbean Women Writers. Too, Mrs. Higgins has taught language courses for the UWI LLB programme.

Mrs. Higgins's academic research interests are West Indian and African American Literature. Mrs. Higgins also writes creatively and is the Co-Editor of the COB student journal Tamarind.
